The online course on Personal Data protection for civil servants and the official website is now available

On  the 17th of May, at the initiative of the Personal Data authority of the Republic of Armenia, the presentation of the official website of the Personal Data Protection Agency of Ministry of justice of the Republic of Armenia and the online course on Personal data protection for civil servants  took place in Yerevan with the participation of state institutions and the representatives of higher educational institutions

The electronic course on personal data protection was created with the active cooperation of Personal Data Protection Agency, Civil Service Office, the Office for the Implementation of Electronic Government Infrastructures and was founded by the German Society for International Cooperation(GIZ).

 “The agency was established in 2015, and next year it will be 10 years old, but until today it has not its own website. That’s why the creation of the website was extremely important for us to establish direct, non-mediated contact with citizens, interested structures and persons, and ultimately, through this, to ensure awareness of personal data protection in Armenia” emphasized the head of the Personal Data Protection Agency, Mr. Grigor Nersisyan  in his speech.

Coordinator of the Armenian programs of the Regional Fund for Public Administration Reforms of the Eastern Partnership Countries, Mr. Hrachik Yarmaloyan presented multi-level cooperation with the Personal Data Protection Agency, giving key importance to the presentation of the Agency’s website and the online course developed for public servants in the field of Personal Data.

“The efforts made by both the Ministry of Justice and the Personal Data Protection Agency to develop this sector and ensure the establishment of the right to personal data protection in the Republic of Armenia are visible for us. And, as a structure interested in it, we feel obliged to support  the Agency on the way to strengthening its capabilities”-emphasized Mr. Yarmaloyan.

Mr. Yarmaloyan presented multi-level cooperation with the Personal Data Protection Agency, giving key importance to the presentation of the Agency’s website and the online course developed for public servants in the field of Personal Data Protection, which is the first of its kind  and format in the Eastern Partnership region.

‘The course was originally intended for civil servants, but as a result we had a product that is universal, we think it is essentially for everyone, including employees of private organizations, students”-mentioned the head of department of Data Protection agency Julieta Matevosyan.

 Lets add that this course consisting of 7 modules, tests on them, audiovisual, feature components is already available on the official website of the Personal Data Protection Agency (pdpa.am).
